We have been made aware of a bomb threat email that has been sent to many school districts across the state of Texas.
Authorities, including the FBI, are involved and investigating the threats. NO specific school has been named as a target and NO credibility has been given at this current time. The safety of our staff and students is our highest priority. As the ongoing investigation continues, we will keep you updated.
UIL Elementary and Jr. High
Reminder UIL for elementary and jr. high will be Friday, December 8th, at Slocum ISD.
Students may be dropped off starting at 6:30 a.m. The buses will depart from Martinsville at promptly 7:00 a.m. Please don’t be late.
The majority of students will be back by 3:25 p.m. for regular scheduled release time. However, there will be a later bus that will not be back until approximately 4:45-5:00 p.m. This information was on your child’s permission slip. If your child has a speaking event, please dress in Sunday best with no Martinsville logos.

The JV and Varsity boys games scheduled for 12/5 at 5:00 pm against Gary has been changed to one game with tip off at 5:15 pm.
Today Maddy Montario is going to be representing the Martinsville FFA at the Texas FFA State LDE Contest in Huntsville at Sam Houston State University. She be competing in Greenhand Creed Speaking against the top schools ranging from 1A to 6A from across the state! Maddy we are so very proud of you! Let's wish her good luck and safe travels!

At the November 13th school board meeting, the Martinsville ISD School Board voted unanimously to name Mr. Will Cauthen as the Lone Finalist to become the next superintendent of Martinsville ISD. By law, there must be a 21 day waiting period before finalizing Mr. Cauthen's contract at the December school board meeting.
Mr. Cauthen has 18 years of experience in the educational field. He has been a part of the Pirate Family for the past 12 years holding positions as Agriculture Science Teacher, Principal, and currently the Associate Superintendent. We are honored to announce him as our lone finalist.
Martinsville brought home many ribbons from the Pineywoods Art and Photography competition. They all did a wonderful job.

Martinsville ISD would like to honor all veterans who have served in any branch of the military. There will be a Veterans Day program honoring all who have served on Friday, November 10th at 8 am in the Martinsville Gym. All grade levels will be participating in this program.
All parents are welcome to attend our program.
REMINDER: Picture Day is tomorrow, November 3rd. This will include Fall Individuals for everyone as well as Senior Cap and Gown Pictures. Those who are absent will have their pictures taken on retake day which is scheduled for Monday, December 4th.
