Secondary Principal

When I arrived at Martinsville ISD in 2007 I had no idea how great this district and the community would be.  I had traveled past the campus on several occasions and knew very little about our school or its history.  Once I joined the staff, it became very clear that this school was exactly what I had sought in regards to teaching and for my own children.  I served four years in the junior high and high school classrooms before accepting the principal’s position in 2011.  Once I became an administrator I was afforded the opportunity to see just how great our school really is.  As I have said many times, our people make the difference.  We have such a professional and compassionate group of people that work with our students each day.  From the front offices to the classrooms all the way to our maintenance and food service employees, we are so fortunate to be surrounded by such a quality group of individuals.

In regards to our students, they are second to none.  We first want to give credit where it is due.  You, our parents, provide the support we need to make our students successful.  From volunteering with school events to helping with projects and homework, you are the link that helps our students and our school succeed.  Thank you for all that you do for them and for Martinsville ISD.  The true heart of our school and community is the way that we care for each other.  I have never been associated with a finer group of people and I am very thankful to be part of this district and its community.  Our students come first.  We seek to provide the best educational opportunities and to extend the walls of the traditional classroom with technology, on campus programs and educational travel.  Our goal is to enhance our student’s experiences through a variety of means while preserving the rich traditions of our school.

Once again, thank you for the opportunity to work with your children each day and for the support you provide to our district.  As we move into the new year let us strive for greater achievements and continue to build on the success of days past.  Go Pirates.
