Student Incentives

DOG TAGS
Each six weeks, we recognize our students by acknowledging three areas:  attendance, good behavior and academic success.  Our PreK-4th grade students have the opportunity to earn "dog tags" signifying their specific accomplishments for the six week grading period.

GOOD CITIZEN AWARD
Each six weeks our teachers will help select the Good Citizen Award winner for the six weeks.  These students are then taken to CiCi's Pizza for an "all you can eat" reward for their accomplishment.  The good citizen award is primarily based on excellent student behavior.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Each month our teachers recognize a student in their classroom that has shown great work ethic, excellent behavior and have maintained good attendance.  Students that are selected are given a yard sign to display at their home in recognition of their accomplishment.

PRINCIPAL'S AWARD
These awards are generally given on more of a daily basis.  When any student displays conduct, provides a service, displays an attitude or shows effort that exemplifies the Martinsville Pirate Way, they are awarded with a certificate and a snack pass for the cafeteria.  Random acts of kindness, helpfulness, great attitudes and campus clean-ups are just a few of the many ways that we choose to recognize students.
